Day 67: Poppin' Bottles with T.I. & Drake (Audio)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com

At first, Drake & T.I. went "Fancyhuh on Drake's recent album, Thank Me Later. Now, T.I. & Drake are back at it again and "Poppin' Bottles" for T.I.'s upcoming album called No Mercy set to be released on December 7th. Check it out:

T.I. - Poppin' Bottles featuring Drake (Produced by T-Minus & Boi-1da)

- Alt Audio Link

This song is straight fiiiiiiiirrre, the beat is just too dope, and you also get to hear the street-side of Drizzy-Drake (none of that singing stuff!). The lyrics may be too explicit for some, but it works for me!

Day 66: A message from Jordan to Lebron (Video)

MJ is right; stop making excuses! This is an recent commercial **edited video that just came about Michael Jordan responding to Lebron James' Rise commercial ("What should I do?..."). When MJ comes out and talks like that, you know he means business! Hopefully this will help Lebron with how he thinks about the game and being in the NBA. Nice video btw; MJ you're awesome.

Props to my homie Beavs for showing me this one. =)

**Correction: This was an edited video that took an old MJ commercial and mashed it up with this one. Still, it makes sense though and Lebron should listen to this as if it were really MJ talking about him, haha!

Day 65.5: It's Friday Night! Time to check out some J. Cole (Audio)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com

In light of the J. Cole performance I'm about to check out tonight in the Bay Area, I just want to share with everybody some of his new tracks so you can get a taste of the good music I'm about to witness live. Here are some of my favorite songs from his recent mixtape called "Friday Night Lights":

J. Cole - In The Morning featuring Drake

- Alt Audio Link
- Slow jam type of song

J. Cole - You Got It featuring Wale

- Alt Audio Link
- This song is very upbeat

J. Cole - Blow Up

- Alt Audio Link
- This song just bumps

J. Cole - Back to the Topic (Freestyle)

- Alt Audio Link
- He got some tight rhymes in this song

Just to let you know, J. Cole is an up & coming hip-hop rapper & also a producer of most of his own music, which is something that's very difficult to do by one person. This guy has mad talent & a dope rap style, and I can't wait to check out his performance tonight!

TGIF peoples & I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving break!

Day 65: Need For Speed release party in LA (Video + Pics)

- A Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit commercial with Jerry Ferrara (aka Turtle) and Kevin Dillion (aka Johnny "Drama") from the HBO show Entourage

11/16 (Hollywood, CA): I went to go check out this release party for a new racing video game, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, and as expected there were a lot of exotic cars, gaming booths, chill people, open bars, and good music. There was even a performance by a small name hip-hop band called Chiddy Bang who had a nice overall performance, and "Chiddy" did a cool freestyle using random words the crowd threw at him. I must say, this d00d has some skills.

My friends and I also saw Jerry Ferrara & Kevin Dillon make a quick appearance, but they were off in their own section so I couldn't say to them "Hey, where's Vincent Chase at?!" Anyways, here are some pictures from the event:

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- I want this car...

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- this one too...

I didn't get a chance to play the game because it was so crowded, but it looks pretty awesome. I'll have to go rent it and check it out for myself.

Day 64: I dedicate this "Rap Song" to you - T-Pain & Rick Ross (Music Video)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/
- T-Pain (Left) & Rick Ross (Right)

This is among the very few songs I like from T-Pain called "Rap Song" featuring Rick Ross, which is the first official single off his upcoming album called "RevolveR" set to be released in Spring 2011. Check out the new music video below:

T-Pain - Rap Song featuring Rick Ross

- Alt Audio Link
- Pretty cool use of the still-motion filming throughout the entire music video

T-Pain is one of those off-the-wall type of artists with a wacky style (both in music & his choice of clothing), and is mostly known for making a lot of mainstream "radio" music with heavy use of the auto-tune. A lot of it's junk music to me but I'll give him credit though, some of his hits have a good overall sound (I think it's mostly because of the auto-tune). Here are some of my fav's from T-Pain: Can't Believe It featuring Lil Wayne & Buy U A Drank featuring Young Joc. Enjoy!

FYI, I might not be back until Friday so have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Day 63: Saigon is back with some real raps (New Music Video)

Saigon - Strength

Saigon is back again with that fire on a new track called "Strength." The beat is off the hook with the help of Just Blaze and he spits that realness with his rhymes that nobody can mimic. Hip-Hop at it's finest.

This song will be featured on Saigon's upcoming album called "The Greatest Story Never Told" set to be released on 2/15/11. Looking forward to this too!

Day 62: When bad meets evil again! Eminem & Royce da 5' 9" - The baddest duo (Audio)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

Eminem & Royce da 5' 9" are back at it again on a new track called "Living Proof." This song reminds me of how they used to collaborate back in the days: keepin it real and not giving a f*** about what they say but at the same time dishing out the rawest lyrics. Check it out (may not be suitable for everyone):

Eminem - Living Proof featuring Royce da 5' 9"

- Alt Audio Link

I'm happy to see them working together again; just like when they both were beginning to emerge onto the hip-hop scene. At a point in time, Eminem went on a different path with his crew, D12, and became THE top rapper of our generation with the help of Dr. Dre.

Royce, on the other hand, did his solo thing for a while and sort of just stayed in the underground scene. Last year, he got together with other lyrically-talented rappers and formed the group called Slaughterhouse, which helped him reconnect with Eminem again. I'm not sure if Eminem reached an agreement to sign the group yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be a done deal soon.

I can't wait to hear more from these two. The bad & the evil.

Day 61: "Don't Let Me Fall" by B.o.B. (Music Video)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

I'm growing to like B.o.B. (aka Bobby Ray) more & more these days as he's just so good at making mainstream hits and has a lot of uplifting songs. He's mostly well known for his song with Bruno Mars called "Nothing on You" and "Airplanes" featuring Haley Williams & Eminem, but I'm sure you already knew this.

Anyways, here's another one of my favorite tracks from his most recent album called "B.o.B. presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray":

Day 60: Is Dr. Dre really coming out with the "Detox" album? **REPOST

Photobucket
- Saw it here first: AshleyOutrageous.com

So, just recently there has been a buzz again about Dr. Dre giving people the notion that he will be releasing his so called "Detox" album that has been "in the making" for several years now. This album has been an on & off project that sort of faded away for a long time, but news about it is finally emerging again.

I just found this new XXL Magazine cover (above) for the December/January 2011 issue, so we will finally get a scoop on what the deal is with this "Detox" album that's supposed to top all of his older albums. Sources say this album will be set to be released in Q1 of 2011, but I'll believe it when I see it! More info about this can be found at: xxlmag.com.

On that note, here are two tracks that just recently leaked from the his"Detox" album. The first one features Akon & Snoop Dogg and the beat is fire (the way Dre uses the piano is siiik). The second features Eminem and sounds aiite (Em's verses are pretty deep though).

Dr. Dre - Kush featuring Snoop Dogg & Akon [**REMOVED]

Eminem - I Need A Doctor featuring Dr. Dre & Liz Rodrigues [**REMOVED]

FYI, these probably aren't the final versions of the songs as I'm sure Dre's gonna make some finishing touches to them. With that, should we believe "Detox" is actually coming?

----------------------- **REPOST:

Sorry everyone, but this post was taken down earlier because of the audio links (so lame). Well to make up for the loss of music (which I'm sure you can find elsewhere), here's a behind the scene look of the making of Dr. Dre's music video for the new song "Kush" featuring Akon & Snoop Dogg [Not suitable for everyone]:

- The music video was shot this past weekend in Downtown LA (Location: Unknown) with appearances from 50 Cent, E-40, and more

I'm pretty sure Dr. Dre is finally serious about releasing the "Detox" album, so we'll have to wait and see what else comes out in the next month or so.

Day 59: Time to chill to the sounds of David Banner & 9th Wonder (Audio)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/
- 9th Wonder (left) & David Banner (right)

9th Wonder came through with another sik beat as usual, and helped produce an awesome track for David Banner called "Be With You" featuring Ludacris & Marsha Ambrosius.

This is a very mellow song that has such soothing sounds of various band instruments used in the beat. It makes me want to just kick back & relax with my headphones, and really puts me in a cheerful mood as it has a happy vibe throughout the entire song. Check it out and listen for yourself:

David Banner & 9th Wonder - Be With You ft. Ludacris & Marsha Ambrosius

- Alt Audio Link

FYI, David Banner & 9th Wonder are coming out with an album together called "Death of a Pop Star" which is set to be released this December 21st. I'll be keeping tabs on this album now as I'm sure it's going to be filled with a lot of quality tracks since 9th Wonder is on the collaboration.

Is it me or is there just too much good hip-hop music out this year?

Day 58: Another One from Bun B & Drake (Video)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

I just saw this get posted today and wanted to share with everyone this really cool song by Bun B featuring Drake called "Put It Down." They're pretty awesome together so I'm sure they will come out with plenty more tracks in the near future. On that note, check out the both of them in this new music video that just came out:

Bun B - Put It Down featuring Drake

Day 57.5: Music Video Friday - What's My Name by Rihanna ft. Drake (Video)

Rihanna - What's My Name featuring Drake

- Alt Audio Link

Drizzy-Drake holding it down with Rihanna on this recent song called "What's My Name." C'mon it's my boy Drake & the ohh-soo lovely Rihanna, which I'm sure everybody's familiar with. This is actually a nice song they did together, so check out the music video. =)

I've always had an ear for mainstream Hip-Hop and R&B, but don't get me wrong I still like the OG, underground, and old school stuff too. On occasion I'll listen to other types of music, but this type of music is my base ;)

Have a good weekend everybody!

Day 57: Music Video Friday - Veteran's Day by Rick Ross ft. Lil Wayne & Birdman(Video)

Rick Ross - Veteran's Day featuring Lil Wayne & Birdman

- Alt Audio Link

I know I'm a day late with this one, but as soon as I heard this song I was blown off my seat! The beat is fire and to add onto that having Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and Birdman all in one track makes it even better.

Props to all the troops who served/ are currently serving the country.

Day 56: Jose Cuervo's Day of the Dead Event (Pics)

Photobucket

11/04 (Los Angeles, CA): I went to go check out this Jose Cuervo Silver Launch Party in Downtown LA with some friends, and it turned out to be a cool event. C'mon, free Jose Cuervo shots & mixed drinks, a chill atmosphere, good music, and a cool set up... what more can you ask for? And it was all free too!

The theme of the party was "Day of the Dead" which is a holiday celebrated in Mexico (of course the perfect theme for this brand). There was also a performance towards the end which was pretty lame, but overall this was a nice event. Here are some pictures I took to give you a view of how it was:

Photobucket
- Freaky yo; it was just looking at us the whole time...

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- Cool bar.

Photobucket
- My homie got scared because this skeleton was about to take him to the underworld...

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- So then I stepped in and made peace with it. We all good now.

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- A scary beauty.

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- I couldn't just have one. =)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com
- Good job Mr. Cuervo. May you R.I.P.

I'm noticing more alcohol labels are throwing these type of free parties on occasion (ex. Heineken & Hennessy), which is good PR for them because it draws young adult to come out to these kind of events and alcohol is something almost every young adult consumes whenever there's a party.

Props to Rex4000 for another one. Go check out his blog; it's pretty cool.

Day 55: Saigon meets Mario & "Gets Busy" (Video)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

Saigon is amongst one of my favorite underground rappers who has the craziest wordplay with his flows and always spits that RAW raps (just like Royce da 5' 9"). Some of his songs are RAW as in.. well it's too explicit for me to explain, but he has some songs that are RAW as in music you can take away a good message from. That's why I like a lot of underground hip-hop (with everything else I listen to) because it has that real flavor from the vocals right down to the beat, lyrically has more substance in which people can level with, and it's the type of music you can just nod your head & get down to.

Anyways, here's a fun song with a Mario-themed beat from Saigon who comes up with a Mario rap suitable for everyone. He can rap about just anything and make it sound cool, so here you go:

Saigon - Get Busy

Saw it here first: Nahright.com

This song reminds me of this classic by an old underground artist named "Benefit" who raps over a similar Mario beat:

Benefit - Warp to World 6-9 (The Mario Rap)

- Alt Audio Link

I can still remember the day I got my first Nintendo & played Mario for days. Good ol' days of being a kid!

Day 54: Inception? No, it's INEBRIATION (Video)

If you've seen the movie Inception then you'll understand INEBRIATION. I finally got to see Inception over the week and it was such an AWESOME movie (definitely DVD-buying worthy). Anyways, the above video is a parody of this movie but instead of being about dreams, it's about being drunk.

Hahah, just watch it =)

Day 53: Cleveland's response to Lebron's recent Nike Commercial (Video)

I'm sure everybody's seen this video by now as it went viral on Friday, but I just wanted to post it here to make it OFFICIAL news (haha!). Maan, Cleveland fans just won't stop at making fun of Lebron James any way they can and this will probably continue for the rest of Lebron's NBA career. I'll give the Cleveland fans credit though, they did a good job with adding their perspective about Lebron's career in Cleveland by pointing out all his failures. This is some funny stuff yo!

Preface: Lebron James recently came out with a new Nike "Rise" Commercial talking about what he "should" do (or should've done) in response to all the critics about his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh to the Miami Heat.

Props to my boy Steve back in the Bay for showing this to me first. Very funny!

Day 52: What is Kobe doing in a "Call of Duty" commercial? SMH... (Video)

Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers must have been super bored after winning the NBA Championship, and decided to play a lot of "Call of Duty" during the offseason to appear in a commercial for the video game. Granted this is probably the hottest first-person shooter game out there right now but c'mon Kobe, don't you have better things to do? Ohh look, I bet he plays online with Jimmy Kimmel too! (sarcastic voice) SMH Kobe... smh...

I must say though that this is a cool & funny commercial in general. Pretty creative and definitely good for the video game.

Day 50: "Four Loko" will make you go loco! (Video)

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

Some friends told me about "Four Loko" recently and I've been curious to try it out, so I did this past Halloween weekend. It's basically a really strong alcoholic bevarage (12%), and contains high amounts of caffeine & sugar in one tall can. As some of you may know, it's not good for your body to mix high amounts of an upper & a downer together at once, which is what this drink is. I typically drink redbull-vodkas all the time but it's definitely not as strong.

After my experience with it, I must say this drink packs a punch. I was pretty amped and at the same time buzzed, so I can see how drinking too much of this or drinking it too fast can really mess people up. I sort of enjoyed it because it kept me awake (too much alcohol makes me tired yo!), but the taste factor is whatever granted I got the lemon/lime flavor. Since there are so many different flavors to choose from, I might give this another trial run =)

Don't worry though, I'll be safe; not like the kids from this news report below:

Sigh, kids these days... If you can't hang then your just weaksauce!!
