Day 16: Recap - Good Things with Aloe Blacc (Events)

Photobucket

With all the Sunday football, VMAs, and Entourage Season Finale, I totally forgot to mention my trip to go check out Aloe Blacc perform @ the Ghetty Museum in LA this past Saturday evening on 9/11.

His performance was full of energy, and the whole set up @ the Ghetty Museum was very elegant & nice. His music was full of positive vibes & modern soul as he was accompanied by his band (called "The Grand Scheme"), and sang a few songs from his upcoming album, Good Things, which will officially be released on September 28th (go get it!). With so many mainstream artists filling their music with too much noise and not enough substance, it's hard to find someone who's truely in it for the music. Aloe Blacc on the other hand isn't like that though. He keeps his music very wholesome by singing & rhyming about the struggles in today's world while portraying a good attitude about it.

I'm sure everybody's heard his most popular hit song called "I Need A Dollar" which is the intro theme song to the HBO show called "How To Make It In America." I think this show is really cool, so if you haven't seen it yet then I highly recommend everybody go check it out. On that note, Aloe Blacc ended his performance with that song so I wanted to share with yall a little snippet of the beginning part of the song he performed:

Props to: Rex4000 for the video. Check out his cool site.
