Day 264: "Uncapped" Performance hosted by Fader x Vitamin Water recap (Pics & Vids)

Big shout out to MissInfo and my homie at Uncvr for providing the RSVP hook up and raising my attention to this awesome surprise show held at the American Legion Hall in Hollywood, CA.

While the performing acts were not announced until the live event, the mystery of not knowing made this "Uncapped" performance hosted by Fader and Vitamin Water that much more exciting to check out. Before the event, I thought I had an idea of who was coming but was completely wrong as things came to when I got to the location. The surprise performers included an Zola Jesus, The Dream, and Rick Ross with special appearances by Omarion & French Montana.

Diggin Miguel's vocals on this Wale track, which is featured on Wale's recent album that just came out called Ambition. A really smooth beat right here.

I've listened to most of this album, and I gotta say it's got some pretty legit tracks and well-composed beats. My fav song on the album so far would have to be "Ambition" featuring Rick Ross & Meek Mill. Check it out for yourself.

I've been stuck on this song ever since it came out, and finally there's a music video for it. I gotta say, this beat is just ridiculously dope, and DJ Khaled's collabo with Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne make this song that much more of a great hit. It's definitely this year's summer jam. Everybody has to of heard this one by now.

Here's a cool music video of the latest single from the Maybach Music Group album titled Self Made Vol. 1 in stores now.

I just got to listening to this album and I gotta say it's filled with mostly hard sounding beats, but there are some tracks that are orchestrated really well. Lyrically, it's ehhhh and I'm not fully in-tune to the hardcore rappin they do, but if you just like listening to good beats and are a fan of Wale & Rick Ross then go cop it here. This is the kinda music you just bump to.

I knew I recognized one of the sample sounds they used on this track; it sounds like they got it from this Lloyd Banks track: Take Em To War (ft. Tony Yayo). Do you know what I'm talking about? This is a dope song too btw

This song has been growing on me ever since I heard it a while back on this streaming Hip-Hop station, and I gotta say it's pretty #raw.

I didn't expect to see Rick Ross & Drake get together & make a music video for this song, but good for them.. they probably had mad fun making this anyways. I'm glad they did it b/c it gives me something to watch when I'm bored too =P

This beat is a banger... not too OG but not soft either (has some shades of dark too). Not sure how to label it but it's dope to me!

Watching this music video makes me want to go to Vegas now.. lol

Not much of a fan of Diddy & Dirty Money but I do like Rick Ross, and throwing Trey Songz in the track is also kinda nice ;)

What really caught my attention to this song was how it began with that thumpin @$$ beat and "Rickey Rozay" startin it off. Other than that this song is aiite..

This is one of those radio/club-type songs to me which I can deal with once in a while. I guess I'm having one of those "once in a while" moments today. C'mon, it's Friday!

Day 105: Devil In A New Dress - Rick Ross' verse (Music Video)

I just saw this music video the other day of a Kanye West track called "Devil In A New Dress" featuring Rick Ross, but I guess Kanye couldn't make it to the shoot so Ross did it without him, haha! =P

If you can't already tell, I'm more of a beat-listener and mostly love this type of chill / mellow-tempo music, especially this track because of it's smooth use of instrumentals. Kanye definitely knows how to fill people's headphones with "Good Music" and Rick Ross does a nice job ending this song too. Don't get me wrong tho, I do factor in lyrics when I "like" a song but some songs sound so good collectively that it doesn't need to have deep lyrics, ya feel me?

FYI, I hope everybody has a copy of Kanye's recent album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy because it's a musical masterpiece.

I only just heard this song as soon as I saw this music video last week (I swear!). I'm not really feeling this song too much, but I'm definitely falling for Keri Hilson a bit more after watching her dance in that sexy outfit in the music video. Umm, I don't really have much more to say.. that's really the main reason why I posted this up ;)

Keri's always been among the hottest female R&B artists of this generation since Timbaland basically introduced her into the limelight. Aside from her fine looks, I do like her as an artist as she's collaborated with some of my favorite hip-hop rappers such as Nas (in Hero) and Kanye West (in Knock You Down featuring Ne-Yo).

If you're into mainstream hip-hop & pop and are one of those club-goers then I'm sure this song is for you.

T-Pain is one of those off-the-wall type of artists with a wacky style (both in music & his choice of clothing), and is mostly known for making a lot of mainstream "radio" music with heavy use of the auto-tune. A lot of it's junk music to me but I'll give him credit though, some of his hits have a good overall sound (I think it's mostly because of the auto-tune). Day 40: Rick Ross - Aston Martin Music ft. Drake (Music Video)

As you may know by now, I'm becoming a big Drake (left) fan and starting to dig more n more music from Rick Ross (right) as well.

Ever since I heard this song called "Aston Martin Music", I've been hoping to see a music video as it's such a sweet song. This was one of the top songs I kept repeating in my playlist when I first heard it on Rick Ross's album, Teflon Don, which is already out in stores now. This song also features Chrisette Michele on the vocals who helps make the chorus so catchy. Of course, once you throw Drake in the mix then it's a sign that everybody can enjoy this song.

I just saw these new Nike "BOOM" commercials over the weekend (mostly during the NYJ vs MIA game), which I believe are a part of a new ad campaign that will be going on for a while. Some of the ads are kinda cool, but the one with Rick Ross is like.. eh? Wtf is he doin on a nike commercial buying a chain? Sneakers would of made more sense...
