"If I told you that a flower bloom in a dark room would you trust it"
- K-dot
This has got to be my favorite song from Kendrick Lamar's recent album, GKMC, featuring Drizzy. I think this is my 3rd blog post about this song but whatever.. it's that dope. That Janet Jackson sample got me hooked too.
Listen to Drake's verse.. it sound like he's making jabs at someone specific... Common maybe? =P
Alot of buzz has been going around about Rick Ross's new free mixtape that just came out this past Friday called Rich Forever. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but here's a mixtape player if you want to check it out:
When tickets went on sale for this concert (happened last night), it sold out within a day which is why I'm so mad I couldn't go.. But man, if I had the funds I totally would have been there. Freakin dope lineup and looked like an awesome show all together.
Man, these ads every 5 min are sooo annoying, but great footage & sound quality of J. Cole & Drake's sets in these videos.
Been listening Drake's new album Take Care almost every day before it came out (got the leak!), and it still bumps. As much as people bag on most of his tracks because of his singing, there are a lot of good quality ones where he raps over awesome beats. Here's a quick playlist of the songs in my headphones:
- "Free Spirit" didn't make the cut on the album but I included it b/c it's a dope song
- Not really feelin "Take Care" but I added it b/c of Rihanna ;P
I love listening to well-orchestrated beats & drums, and these tracks are soothing to my ears. Overall, still an album worth buying though, and yes I did buy it.
The beat on this song has a really trippy feel to it but it's hella dope none the less. Got a really catchy hook and the song just vibes well. Well done on both ends Drizzy #OVOXO
"I be yellin out money over everything, money on my mind..." -Drizzy
Another hot track released earlier this past Summer by Drake, and now here's the music video.
I really like the sounds of the drum beats, and it has such a catchy hook. I'm very impressed by Drake & his team #OVO as they just knows how to make every Drake song flow so well to all types of music-heads.
Drake's second album"Take Care" releasing this month: 10/24/11#CANTWAIT
- 10/08 Update: Drake pushed back the release date to 11/15/11. More info here.
"Tat my f*ckin name on you so I know it's real.." - Drizzy
Just wanted to post this song up b/c it's been on repeat in my playlist for the past few weeks. The beat/sounds puts me in a really relaxed mood and is keeping me at ease during this busy time.
Yea, this video is a tad late but I just wanna show everyone that I really enjoy live shows/music these days since I missed out on soo much when I younger, and hope the people I'm reaching have a similar appreciation to enjoy this video I'm posting.
There are a lot of Hip-Hop shows in LA but I'm having trouble finding the time and the right people who want to go with me. S'all good tho.. as long as I stay motivated...
"The woman I that I would try, is happy with a good guy; but I've been drinkin so much, that ima call her anyway and say..." -Drake
I totally understand the feeling of what Drakeis saying in this song by watching his body language in this music video & listening to the lyrics. I sorta feel like I've been in a similar situation before, and I hate catching myself drunk dialing like that. #ImAnIdiot
The chorus of this song should really go: "I'm just sayin, I could do better... tell me have you heard that lately?"
"I don't really give a fcuk, and my excuse is that I'm young; And I'm only gettin older, somebody shoulda told ya.. I'm on one... fcuk it I'm on one." -Drake
I've been stuck on this song ever since it came out, and finally there's a music video for it. I gotta say, this beat is just ridiculously dope, and DJ Khaled's collabo with Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne make this song that much more of a great hit. It's definitely this year's summer jam. Everybody has to of heard this one by now.
This song has been growing on me ever since I heard it a while back on this streaming Hip-Hop station, and I gotta say it's pretty #raw.
I didn't expect to see Rick Ross & Drake get together & make a music video for this song, but good for them.. they probably had mad fun making this anyways. I'm glad they did it b/c it gives me something to watch when I'm bored too =P
This beat is a banger... not too OG but not soft either (has some shades of dark too). Not sure how to label it but it's dope to me!
Watching this music video makes me want to go to Vegas now.. lol
- Alt Audio Link (Nicki gets kinda bi-polar in the beginning, yikes!)
"I believe that life is a prize, but to live doesn't mean you're alive.." -Nicki Minaj
Yea.. I'll admit, I do listen to some Nicki Minaj and this is one of the songs I actually like from her recent album, Pink Friday. I think this song is real catchy, it's got such uplifting lyrics over a happy beat, and I like it more so because Drake is featured on the song (c'mon, they're the two best members of Young Money!).
Some guys don't give Nicki enough credit as a rapper nor even try to listen to her music, but I think she's an awesome talent, seems like a humble person (with a bizarre personality!), and she's doing a good job working hard at this & making a name for herself. Oh yea, she has some very nice curves and an enormous a$$ so she's got my vote ;)

My internet has been acting funky lately, so sorry for the late post..
I'll keep this quick & simple.. I just want to wish everybody a Happy New Year & I hope everyone will have a brighter 2011. Regardless of all the stress people may be going through, just keep in mind to stay focused on your goals and do what it takes to be happy for yourself & everybody around you.
I really appreciate all the viewers checking out my blog and will continue bringing you cool stuff in 2011. Here's a Drake song I thought would be fitting for this occasion:
Drake - Fireworks featuring Alicia Keys
- From the album Thank Me Later (One of my favorite albums of 2010, go get it!)
Be safe & have fun. This is my last post of 2010 and I'm out... deuces!
Jamie Foxx - Fall For Your Type featuring Drake
- Alt Audio Link
For those who didn't catch the premiere of this music video on BET last Friday, here it is for your listening & viewing pleasure.
This song featuring Drake will be on Jamie Foxx's new album called Best Night of My Life set to be released on December 21st. I'm sure the album will be filled with a lot of R&B and party-type music, so this should definitely be a good album to get for all you mainstream music lovers out there.
Personally, I can get into this type of music and I think Jamie Foxx is a very talented person who has done it all (television, movies, stand-up, & music), but I'll need to hear more songs from the album to get a better feel of it. Right now, I can dig Jamie Foxx as a musician but I'm not really too inclined to spend $$$ on an album like this.
At first, Drake & T.I. went "Fancy" huh on Drake's recent album, Thank Me Later. Now, T.I. & Drake are back at it again and "Poppin' Bottles" for T.I.'s upcoming album called No Mercy set to be released on December 7th. Check it out:
T.I. - Poppin' Bottles featuring Drake (Produced by T-Minus & Boi-1da)
- Alt Audio Link
This song is straight fiiiiiiiirrre, the beat is just too dope, and you also get to hear the street-side of Drizzy-Drake (none of that singing stuff!). The lyrics may be too explicit for some, but it works for me!
In light of the J. Cole performance I'm about to check out tonight in the Bay Area, I just want to share with everybody some of his new tracks so you can get a taste of the good music I'm about to witness live. Here are some of my favorite songs from his recent mixtape called "Friday Night Lights":
J. Cole - In The Morning featuring Drake
- Alt Audio Link
- Slow jam type of song
J. Cole - You Got It featuring Wale
- Alt Audio Link
- This song is very upbeat
J. Cole - Blow Up
- Alt Audio Link
- This song just bumps
J. Cole - Back to the Topic (Freestyle)
- Alt Audio Link
- He got some tight rhymes in this song
Just to let you know, J. Cole is an up & coming hip-hop rapper & also a producer of most of his own music, which is something that's very difficult to do by one person. This guy has mad talent & a dope rap style, and I can't wait to check out his performance tonight!
TGIF peoples & I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving break!
I just saw this get posted today and wanted to share with everyone this really cool song by Bun B featuring Drake called "Put It Down." They're pretty awesome together so I'm sure they will come out with plenty more tracks in the near future. On that note, check out the both of them in this new music video that just came out:
