Day 192: Just another day for Kevin Durant on the courts - @ Rucker Park (Video)
I guess I'm a bit late with this Kevin Durant video since it has spread all over the web and already made it's way on ESPN too. Oh well, I want to show this anyways for peeps that may have missed it.
Basically, its a video of KD making three 3-pt shots in a row so effortlessly at a league game (I believe) in Rucker Park. Call him #MrSmooth
Here's another longer video showing more of the game he played in:
If an NBA lockout really does happens, I think certain NBA players should team up, start a street league, and tour the country. Do it for the fans, not the money!

Day 187.5: More bball from the weekend - Lebron highlights from the Drew League (Video)
I heard Lebron James participated in the Drew League over here in LA this past weekend, and I finally found a video someone posted up. Here are the Lebron highlights from the game.
FYI, this Drew league is pretty popular with alot of NBA athletes; a few weeks ago Kevin Durant even stopped by & played in it too. If you check their site & read up a bit more, there have actually been alot of appearances by many other NBA players and some rap artists. I think The Game even has his own team in it.
A very respectful league they got here with some good competition, I'm sure. I should try to go check it out sometime.

Day 180: I breathe & live basketball - D.Will's hesitation move + Bow Wow gets punked by Kobe (Videos)
Deron Williams is one of my top 3 favorite point-guards in the NBA right now, and it's going to be real sad if he plays overseas in Turkey because of this stupid NBA lockout.
I believe in 2012 that the world will really be coming to the "end of days" if the NBA gets locked out next season as well as the NFL. Idiot owners and their greed for more money.. If we had no sports this Fall then I think everybody would go stupid craaaaazy #badnews
On a funnier note, check out this video of Bow Wow getting owned by Kobe:
"Come here little fella... shut up!" - Kobe Bryant
Kobe is just playing casually while Bow Wow is down $1K. Smh @ Bow Wow for even thinking he had a chance. No, you didn't just lose Bow Wow, you got spanked, taken to school, and spanked again after school #blackmambastyle

Day 162: Michael Jordan vs Lebron James - The Endless Debate (Cool Video)
This recent video just surfaced compiling some cool clips & audio commentary from NBA analysts (+ Scottie Pippen's comment) talking about Michael Jordan vs Lebron James.
Who is better? MJ or LBJ? You would think this is obvious but I've heard some rather interesting comments for both sides.
In my eyes, MJ is by far the greatest NBA player of all time without a doubt. I'm not gonna go into the obvious & compare stats, but I gotta say MJ was definitely a great leader when he played the game and during the end of close games you know if he had the ball that he was gonna make the last shot #soclutch
On the other hand, Lebron did enter the NBA right out of high school and became a dominant all-star right away (Rookie of the Year, 7x All-Star, 2x MVP), so he deserves major credit for that. I can see why people think he's better than MJ because in today's league athletes are so much more stronger, quicker, and faster. With that, Lebron by far exceeds anyone in physical/athletic ability & pure talent, which makes him such a monster on the court #beastmode
You can agree or disagree; I really don't care. This debate can go on forever, but I want to leave one final comment: MJ never just quit like Lebron did during the playoffs last year vs the Boston Celtics, and MJ won a Slam Dunk Contest vs Lebron who never even attempted to do #smh
Lebron is
6/13/11 Update: Ok, I just wanna retract one of my comments from above after watching Game 6 where the Heat just got whooped on by the Mavs... Lebron: you are not great anymore to me; just physically gifted/talented in all aspects of the game yet you don't know how to close them when the pressures up. SMHx1000!

Day 149: Taj Gibson puts a facial on D.Wade!! WOW-zaz! (Video)
I know this is really late now but I just had to post this awesome dunk by Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls. I seriously felt the TV shake as this dunk was happening #epicdunk
I'm sorry to do this to you D.Wade but this was by far the best dunk I've seen so far during the #nbaplayoffs. I wonder why Dwyane Wade hasn't tweeted about this... =X

Day 145: D.Rose finally winning MVP!! = New Commercials (Video)
I gotta give a big shout out to one of my favorite Point Guards, Derrick Rose, who was just declared #MVP of this NBA season yesterday =)
He is probably the most explosive, talented, & clutch player in today's league, and is super exciting to watch every time he steps onto the courts. I really hope he can power through that hurt ankle of his and continue to stay on fire through the playoffs now that he's the MVP (even with that hurt ankle). Leggo!
I already saw two MVP commercials with D.Rose, and I just so happen to have found one of them by Adidas:
The other one was a Powerade commercial that I saw on TV, but it's not posted up online yet. When it does, I'll post it up.
Congrats to D.Rose now go handle some business tonight vs the Hawks! #gobulls

Day 140: Go NY Go (Remix) by Swizz Beatz ft. Amare x Melo - SMH x 100! (Video)
I'm really ashamed to post this up but man I have to bash on how lame this is.. #superwak !!
Cmon freals Swizzy, Amare, & Melo?!?! I think this is probably only used for the intermissions between timeouts & breaks during the game anyways, but still... I'm sure they could have come up with a better themed NY Knicks song than that!
If it was DJ Pauly D in the mix then I'd understand how this would fit together. With Swizzy tho, why not stick with a Hip-Hop themed song.. I mean, I thought Hip-Hop originated in New York? :\
Sounds like a bunch of Jersey Shores type music... blaaaaah SMH! Now I hope the Celtics whoop on the Knicks today.. #beatNY
Shout out to my homie Dex for showing me this one..
Happy GOOD Friday peeps!

Day 135: Sports x Music Meet - Cool New Nike x Foot Locker Commercial (Video)
- Athletes featured: Amar'e Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, DeSean Jackson
I saw this cool Foot Locker & Nike commercial from a friend so I just had to share it with everybody =)
It's got a real fresh & laid back feel to it with alot of cartoon graphics making it fun at the same time. This commercial also gives off a #hipster vibe too with the background music provided by the Cool Kids.. overall #prettycool
I want some new shoes now! lol! Props to my homie S-dot-Diddy for showing me this.

Day 124: Dwyane Wade & Lebron James on the Kiss Cam! (Video)
This is kinda funny yo. It's a really short clip, and you'll see real briefly as the announcer is talking that they put the Kiss Cam on Dwyane Wade & Lebron James. As soon as that happens, Lebron covers his head trying to hide from it. They could have at least done something funny...
I wonder what Chris Bosh was thinking when he saw this.. he probably felt left out & put on the sadface =(
Aww, poor Bosh...

Day 123: The New Look for Adidas ft. Derrick Rose, Katy Perry, B.o.B. & More
I've been seeing this cool "Adidas is all in" campaign going on a lot recently, and I just want to share this new commercial they've unveiled. It's a very motivating & uplifting commercial featuring some of their top athletes & musical artists such as Derrick Rose, Katy Perry, B.o.B., and more.
I really like how they tie in music & sports together, and I can see why because being a professional athlete or a widely-known musician require so much hard work if you want to compete with the best and stay on top of the game.
I'm starting to like where Adidas is heading as a brand right now. I'm all in.
Good lookin Shimp-Dizzle for showing me this one =)

Day 122: I think I found Deron Williams' new #1 Fan! (Video)
Ohh maaan, this clip is funny! =)
Towards the final seconds of the Nets vs Celtics game, Deron Williams (one of my fav PG's) does a sik crossover to a 3pt shot & makes it drop in so effortlessly, and apparently one fan gets stunned out of his mind as soon as he sees that. haha!
I bet he's gonna get a Deron Williams jersey after that.. he just has to now! LOL

Day 113: My NBA All-Star Weekend - D.Rose signing, Pictures, & More! (Events)
All was crackin this past weekend with NBA All-Star Weekend happening in Los Angeles, CA this year.
Since last Thursday, there have been so many NBA players making live appearances for the fans all over the place from the Fox Hills Mall, 3rd Street in Santa Monica, the Beverly Center, and more. There were also mad club parties each night hosted by various NBA players and so many celebs/rappers everywhere making special appearances too, but I wasn't able to get access to any of those parties so boo... =(
My one highlight of the weekend was that I did get to see one of my favorite NBA players, Derrick Rose. I got real lucky when I got to see him because the day before his appearance I found out that you needed a wristband to see him. They only handed out 150 of those wristbands and luckily I got one of them.. I waited 2 hours to get that wristband but it was so worth it.
I didn't have a jersey for him to sign so I got the next best thing.. his new shoes: the Adidas Adizero Rose 1.5. Freakin awesome bball shoes btw! I got pics below:

I got a few more pictures in my album right here (mostly just sneakers & displays):

| NBA All-Star Weekend: Los Angeles |
Lastly, I just want to say the best part of NBA All-Star Weekend wasn't the NBA player appearances, totally not the exciting dunk contest Blake Griffin owned, and not even the All-Star game itself. The best part was actually the half-time performance by Rihanna! (I hope you know I'm being sarcastic but Rihanna did have an awesome performance tho, haha!)

Day 111: "The Black Mamba" by Robert Rodriguez (Video)
NBA All-Star Weekend in LA has already begun, which means all the wait is over! Here's the Kobe Bryant short film called "The Black Mamba" directed by Robert Rodriguez.
I gotta say it's pretty entertaining and sorta funny to watch. There are cameos made by Danny Trejo, Bruce Willis, and Kanye West. Overall, I think Kobe & Robert Rodriguez did a good job setting up this film.
In the meantime, I'm going to explore LA & try find some spottings of NBA players, and document the festivities. This is going to be a fun weekend in LA! =)

Day 94: The LeBrons Animated Series - F'reals LeBron? You're kidding right?
So, I just read that LeBron James is coming out with his own web-based animated series called "The LeBrons" (very original Lebron!) scheduled to launch sometime this spring. I'm too lazy to explain what this is all about, so you can read more about it here.
Personally, I think he should have premiered this while he was a Cleveland Cavalier when everybody in the world was embracing him even though he hadn't won a championship yet. Since he chose the EZ route and left to the Miami Heat, a lot of haters have emerged and I can see a lot of people not giving a fcuk about this & clowning LeBron even more.
I do like LeBron James as an athlete and think he's an awesome NBA player, but I just think the timing of this is all wrong. It's too soon to try and convert LeBron-haters into fans again, but I guess kids don't know any better so this may actually be a smart move by LeBron (getting to the kids while they're young so they grow up to remember LeBron as a Miami Heat and not a quitter with the Cav's).
In case you still care, here's a quick video of LeBron promoting his new animated series:

Day 92: Kobe taking "The Black Mamba" to Hollywood (Video)
It looks like Kobe Bryant aka "The Black Mamba" is taking his game & his nickname to the next level... HollywoOod!
Well, sorta-not really.. I just heard that Nike is collaborating with Kobe and creating some sort of short movie set to be released during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game, which is happening on Feb 18-21 in Los Angeles, CA. I guess this would seem fitting knowing that Kobe plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and is also leading in all-star votes as of today. What better way to represent for your city and do something "extraordinary" for your fans than make a movie, right?
I'm pretty sure this movie is all really to help promote Kobe's recent shoe that came out called the Zoom Kobe VI, but at least it should be more entertaining than D. Wade's "D3" commercials.
We'll have to wait until the 2011 NBA All-Star weekend to see how this movie turns out. If more development comes out in the meantime then I'll be sure to keep ya'll posted.

Day 81: "Quick Can't Be Caught" with CP3 & his new shoe (Videos)
- Don't blink because this commercial goes by quick!
If you're familiar with the recent "Fast Don't Lie" commercials (I did post them before.. hello!) by Adidas featuring Derrick Rose then you'll understand how the Jordan Brand (by Nike) is trying to one-up their competition with the "Quick Can't be Caught" commercials featuring Chris Paul.
In this new series of "quick" commercials, Chris Paul is promoting his new signature shoe called the CP3.IV which look pretty dope. If you haven't seen the shoe yet then check them out below:
- More pictures & info about the shoe can be found at: Dimemag.com
I actually own a pair of the original CP3's but I've worn them out so much playing bball that I may have to retire them soon. These were my most favorite shoes to play in (granted they were my only "real" bball shoes before; thanks Dex!) as it had such a nice soft cushion with every step I took and made me feel light on my feet. The only thing I didn't like was how it looked but as you can see the CP3.IV's are 10x more awesome now.
Any shoe fanatics out there? I think I'm becoming one as I'm starting to like shoes just as much as I like music & food. Since living here in Los Angeles, I've gone out more often than before to check out the different local shoe shops in the area and I've even been out to a few sneaker events. To add onto that, my roommate (aka Shimp-deezy) is big on shoes so he kind of got me into it too.
My shoe obsession is growing so I may branch out my blog a bit and start posting up any cool shoes I find (bball, casual, any type of shoe). I think it's time to get myself an xmas present =D

Day 80: What is Steve "The Franchise" Francis doing now? (Video)
- He's so OG that he'll play on a bad ankle while the ice pack is still on. LOL.
I just read this Yahoo article not too long ago about Steve Francis (former NBA All-Star), and it appears he's still ballin it up in a league over in China for a team called the Beijing Ducks. He saw his first action the other day as he was called into the game knowing he was injured with a bad ankle (look at that ice pack!). Regardless, he played but only got to see about 3 minutes of action so it wasn't a big deal.
I'm really surprised there is actually news about "The Franchise" since his departure from the NBA. I swear he just fell off a cliff, and everybody just forgot about him & moved on. I can't even remember the last NBA team he played for, but I do remember when he was a Houston Rocket busting out some flashy moves as he had crazy handles and mad hops for a point guard his size. Granted the team wasn't that great at the time, I still liked him back then during the days he played alongside Cuttino Mobley (old school yo!).
Here's a news report from China that proves he's still playing bball:
- This clip just shows a glimpse of him entering the game which was enough for them to win
On the topic of forgotten NBA players, I heard Stephon Marbury is also playing in the same Chinese league as Steve Francis so that should boost up their fanbase overseas... or maybe not.

Day 53: Cleveland's response to Lebron's recent Nike Commercial (Video)
I'm sure everybody's seen this video by now as it went viral on Friday, but I just wanted to post it here to make it OFFICIAL news (haha!). Maan, Cleveland fans just won't stop at making fun of Lebron James any way they can and this will probably continue for the rest of Lebron's NBA career. I'll give the Cleveland fans credit though, they did a good job with adding their perspective about Lebron's career in Cleveland by pointing out all his failures. This is some funny stuff yo!
Preface: Lebron James recently came out with a new Nike "Rise" Commercial talking about what he "should" do (or should've done) in response to all the critics about his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh to the Miami Heat.
Props to my boy Steve back in the Bay for showing this to me first. Very funny!
