Day 121: A Really Cool Video-Hacking Gadget (Video)

I just saw this video from a friend yesterday, and wanted to relay it for everyone else who hasn't seen this already. Pretty awesome, right?

I gotta say this guy has a really cool gadget, and it would be hella fun to mess around with this & play some  random video on any sort of video billboard. Something like this. haha!

Props to my homie Doanut for showing me this one =)

Day 116: New Tech Comes & Goes Fast! - Funny Best Buy Commercial (Video)

- It's the TRUTH!

Check out the commercial above, and tell me if you would have a similar reaction with new technology & the rate something newer comes out:

- D00d seriously WTF?! I just got one a few months ago!
- Should I get one now or wait for a newer one???
- I just want to break the one I have now.. I hate upgrading! >:O

If you've made any of these comments before then I feel your pain!

I've been seeing this Best Buy commercial on a lot of networks lately, and it really does make good sense of how newer technology is coming out quicker & quicker these days. Just yesterday, Apple announced their release of the iPad 2 after they had released the original iPad in April 2010. Who knows, we may see an iPad 3 come out this Fall!

Anyways, I'm in a dilemma right now and deciding if I should get the Verizon iPhone now or wait until a newer one comes out. F- it, I'm probably going to get one real soon but I know I might kick myself in the butt in a few months...

Good creative ad btw.

Day 79: Cool new iPhone app - Word Lens (Videos)

- It looks like this app is only for translating Spanish to English (vice versa) for now

Check out this video showcasing the new iPhone app called "Word Lens" that just recently came out (or will be coming out very soon).

It can translate words literally by pointing your iPhone camera onto the writing you want to translate, and it will appear in the language you want right on the iPhone screen. This would be such a VERY helpful app for those who like to travel & don't really know how to read other languages. I'm sure they don't have all the languages translated yet but once they do then this will be another evolution of technology. Very cool!

Now, I just need to get my hands on an iPhone which will hopefully be soon as I'm waiting for it to come out for Verizon in Q1 of 2011 (from what I've heard).

Day 8: The New iPod Nano

http://daysofj.blogspot.com/

Just caught me a glimpse of the new iPod Nano, which looks kinda cool and fun to play with. Apple is always looking to reduce the size of their other iPods so might as well do it with the nano too, right? Some nice features include:

  • A touch screen because that is the "future of technology" these days (called "Multi-touch")
  • Practically half the size & weight of the regular iPod nano, which makes it easier to carry around (and easier to lose!)
  • Has a "Shake" feature where you can literally shake the iPod Nano and it will shuffle to the next song (good for lifting weights & exercising)
  • A clip in the back so you can hang it to almost anything (similar to the ipod shuffle)
  • You can rotate the screen with two fingers, which is convenient if you have it hooked on your armband the wrong way (or somewhere it's not supposed to be :P)
The new iPod Nano is supposed to retail for $149 (8GB version) and $179 (16 GB version), which come in all the Apple colors. This is set to be available in stores sometime next week. Here's a video of someone playing around with it, so you can preview it live in action:
